About Yoga

Yoga translates as "union" in the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit. Yoga occurs when there is a union or merging of the mind, body and spirit, creating a sense of peace and balance, bringing our unconscious into our conscious self. Yoga is a way of moving into stillness to be guided from within to connect and awaken to our most authentic self. Which is one of love, compassion and harmony.  Yoga helps us to remove the limitations that we have put upon ourselves by providing us with inner clarity where we are better able to enhance our daily experiences in life.

In order to achieve this union with ourselves; Mediation (dhyana), Pranayama (conscious breathing), Asanas (postures) and  Mudras (hand gestures) are practiced.

In my classes, I would like to share with you my passion and love for Yoga and self discovery by creating a calm, safe, grounded environment. Let me help you find the peace and strength within yourself to discover your sense of inner strength and balance.

I offer an eclectic approach to Yoga by incorporating the following different styles of Yoga:

Hatha - In this classical form of yoga, (Ha) meaning sun which is the masculine energy and (tha) meaning moon which is the feminine energy within our bodies, you will use conscious breathing and physical postures to bring about a sense of  balance and peace to the mind and body.

Kundalini -  Known as the Yoga of Awareness, brought to the west by Yogi Bhajan, Kundalini Yoga incorporates Kriyas (postures), dynamic breathing techniques, meditation and mantras   which assist to awaken the dormant energy at the base of the spine, accessing more of you as your consciousness expands, balancing the endocrine system and the nervous system creating a more youthful and vital you as you access mo

Yin
- A slow deep practice of seated postures which are held for long periods of time, the focus is on the lower spine, pelvis and hips. Releasing into a deeper level of your connective tissues and ligaments and energy meridians.

"Those who Live passionately, teach us how to Love.
